COVID-19: THE HALL IS CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICEOriginally built as a war memorial for World War I soldiers from the local area, events of all types take place at the hall – ceilidhs, parties and weddings, and the hall serves as a meeting place for local clubs and organizations.

PURPOSE
BUCHANAN Memorial Hall seeks to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Buchanan and its environs without distinction of sex, sexuality, political, religious or other opinions by associating the local statutory authorities, voluntary organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities or assist in the provision of facilities in the interest of social welfare for recreation and other leisure time occupation so that their conditions of life may be improved.
The main purpose of the Hall is the provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended.
The Buchanan Memorial Hall is a registered SCIO – SC047548
MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE
THE hall is governed by a management committee that works towards providing support for Buchanan in the best way it can.
The committee meets at least four times a year, and announces its AGM through this site.
The committee can hold EGMs when necessary. Please see below for confirmed meeting times, agendas and minutes. Its constitution is available here.
The Committee has learned of the sad passing of Angus MacFadyen. Angus was a long standing member of the Hall Committee, and its Chair for many years. His contribution to the Hall and local community was outstanding, and he will be greatly missed. Our condolences to his family.
